Notes
1. Mary was the eldest of four children of Edwin Yeo (1838–1898) and Mary Brown, who married in Liverpool in 1889. The others were Albert Edwin Yeo (born 1889), Ethel Maud Yeo (born 1890) and Theresa Alberta Bruce Yeo (born 1893) – it is not known whether any of them emigrated with their parents.
2. Herbert applied for US citizenship in 1937. On his application form he stated that he was divorced, had two daughters and that his former wife (who he names as Frances) was living in England.
