The 1939 Register for Stockport records Andrew Jordan and his wife Carrie Jordan at 43 Athol Street. Andrew is a general labourer born in 1917; Carrie a cotton winder born in 1920. They are the only two people in the household.
This Register entry is misleading because the surname Yeo is omitted. Andrew Jordan Yeo (1917–1998) had married Carrie Hutchings (1920–1997) in 1938. There is no record of their having any children.
Andrew’s parents have not been identified, and his birth does not appear to have been registered.
