William Albert Yeo and Gertrude Lucy Williams

William Albert Yeo (1879–1980, son of Richard Yeo and Caroline Freeman) married twice.

He first married Gertrude Lucy Williams at the parish church of St David, Fleur-de-Lis in 1906. They had one son [note 1]. William’s wife Gertrude died in 1941; he married Emily Brownscombe in 1943. No children are recorded from this second marriage.

The 1939 Register records William at Gnoll House in Bedwas and Machen – he is 60 years old and described as a bacon purveyor. Listed with William is 55-year-old Gertrude Yeo, occupation ‘unpaid domestic duties’.

The previous entry on the same Register page (for Hill View, Bedwas and Machen) records 68-year-old Clara Nancekivell [note 2]. Listed with her is 59-year-old Emily Brownscombe, William Albert Yeo’s future second wife.
