The 1939 Register records 66-year-old Alice M. Yeo at 25 Queens Road in the Alphington area of Exeter. She is retired and shown as a widow; with her is her daughter, 40-year-old Doris M.H. Yeo. There are two other women in the same household: Alice Ashford, a 57-year-old widow, and May Martin, a 54-year-old married woman.

Alice lived until 1949. She, Samuel and Doris are buried in the parish churchyard at Alphington.
