William Yeo of Fulham

William Yeo was baptised at the parish church of St Kerrian, Exeter in 1613, the third son of Roger Yeo and Mary Somers. He moved to London, where he married widow Anne Prewe (née Tucker) at the parish church of St Thomas the Apostle, Knightrider Street in 1639.

William’s wife Anne and his mother Mary were from Hartland families. He was referred to as a cousin in the 1648 will of Arthur Yeo of Blackfriars – they were second cousins, great grandsons of Nicholas Yeo of East Bridge, Stratton.

William’s occupation is unknown, and he later moved out of central London to buy and live at Wandown House in the Wandown area of Fulham (later known as Walham Green). He died in 1660 and left a will he made 13 years earlier – for details of this will see The Yeo Family.
