William Yeo married Sarah Cole at the parish church of St John the Baptist, Cardiff in 1869. William [note 1] died in 1897. Sarah lived until 1925. They lived at Ystradyfodwg, Glamorganshire, where they had five children [note 2]:
– William Thomas Yeo (born 1870)
– Frederick Yeo (1872–1873)
– John Yeo (1874–1875)

Notes
1. William’s death was registered at Cardiff, with his age recorded as 66; his probate record gives his occupation as engine driver. His marriage certificate records his father as Thomas Yeo, a labourer, and the 1871 census records him as a 29-year-old railway stoker born in Devon. These recorded ages are not necessarily accurate, and William’s birth (about 1840) appears not to have been registered. Sheila Yeo recorded his parents as Thomas Yeo and Grace Knill, and his birthplace as Ilfracombe – which is likely to be correct.
2. These births were registered at Pontypridd. The family was recorded at Ystradyfodwg in the 1881 census with their surname spelt Yoe.
3. After Ellen’s death in 1932, Sydney John Yeo married Mabel Ada Cordrey.
4. Three children born between 1935 and 1940.
