The William Yeo who married Sarah Cole at the parish church of St John the Baptist, Cardiff in 1869 poses a number of questions for researchers. His origins are not clear, and there is no record of his death in Wales or England.
His marriage certificate records his father as Thomas Yeo, a labourer, and the 1871 census records him as a 29-year-old railway stoker born in Devon. Both these clues should make his birth or baptism (about 1841) straightforward to trace. Sheila Yeo recorded his parents as Thomas Yeo and Grace Knill – although this cannot be verified and his birth appears not to have been registered, it is currently the only source we have.
William and Sarah have not been found in Welsh and English records after 1871.
