The 1891 census for Battersea in south-west London records 22-year-old Devon-born William C. Yeo at 183 Leathwaite Road, his occupation is given as commercial clerk. Listed with him are his wife Ada Yeo – who is also 22 and was born in Manchester – and a lodger, 60-year-old watercolour artist Edward Law.
William Curson Yeo (1868–1951) was born at South Zeal. He moved to London, possibly with his parents, and married Ada Cleasby in 1890.
William Curson Yeo’s father George William Jope Yeo was born at South Tawton in 1844.
