Samuel Thomas Percy Yeo and Georgina McDonald

The passenger list for the Orient Company liner Osterley, which reached London on 3 September 1920 having sailed there from Brisbane, includes 35-year-old Samuel T.P. Yeo, a Royal Navy Lieutenant. Listed with Samuel are his wife Georgina (also 35) and their children Alice M (age 12), William P (8), Mavis A (6) and Roland J (2). Their destination is recorded as Plymouth.

Samuel Thomas Percy Yeo had been born in 1884, the eldest son of William Yeo and Mary Smith – he and Georgina had married in Plymouth in 1908, and Samuel’s posting had kept him in Australia for several years as their youngest two children had been born there.

They had five children:
– Alice Mary Yeo (born Portsmouth 1909, married Ernest Arnold Beatty)
– Winifred Iva Yeo (born Plymouth 1910, died 1911)
– William Percy Yeo (born Plymouth 1912, married Olga Margaret Greig)
– Mavis Annie Yeo (born 1914 in Victoria, married Walter Francis Gerard Heath, died 2006)
– Roland J Yeo (born 1918 in Australia, married Betty Bennett).

Samuel and Georgina both died in south-east London – Georgina in 1920 and Samuel in 1941.
