The 1911 census for Shrewsbury records 66-year-old Richard Yeo living in Wyle Cop in the centre of the town, his occupation recorded as ostler and his birthplace as Cornwall. Listed with him are 40-year-old Elsie Yeo (recorded as his wife) and 13-year-old Albert Burton Yeo (recorded as his son).
Richard would appear to be a good match by age for Richard Palmer Yeo (who was born in Cornwall and spent time in Shropshire) were it not for the fact that in 1911 he was married to his second wife Lucy Celia Jenkins and had a number of children, none of whom was called Albert.
