There are only a few records of two people called Yeo marrying each other.
James Yeo (1857–1939) was born at Swimbridge. His parents Thomas Yeo and Elizabeth Richards farmed at Dennington, and James is recorded there with them in the 1861 census. He emigrated to Australia as a young man, and married Mary Ellen Shapland Yeo in New South Wales in 1886.
Mary Ellen Shapland Yeo (1860–1934) was born in New South Wales to parents George Shapland Yeo and Elizabeth Pender. She too had family connections to Swimbridge.
James and Mary Ellen had four children:
– May Alice Yeo (1887–1929)
– Thomas George Yeo (1889–1975, married Ruby Madeleine Bessie Badgery, no recorded children)
– John Shapland Yeo (1890–1921)
– Grace Mary Yeo (1893–1972).
