Isaac Yeo and Mary Carey

A pedigree sent to Sheila by Canadian researcher Alan Richards in 1996 records includes this couple and their marriage at Tintagel on 27 October 1711 [notes 1, 2].

Isaac and Mary lived at Lanteglos, near Camelford [note 3] and baptised two sons there:
– Isaac Yeo (1713–1763, no marriage or children recorded)
– Richard Yeo (see below).

Richard Yeo (1722–1796, son of Isaac Yeo and Mary Carey) married Katherine Prout at Michaelstow on 12 December 1745. They had two children:
– Mary Yeo (born c1746, son Richard Yeo baptised 1767 at St Breward [note 4])
– Richard Yeo (see below).

Richard Yeo (c1750–1796, son of Mary Yeo) baptised three children at St Breward with his wife Elizabeth:
– Rebecca Yeo (baptised 1785)
– Catherine Yeo (baptised 1793)
– Isaac Yeo (1796–1877, no marriage or children recorded).

There might be a connection to Richard Yeo and Rosina Victor.

Notes:
1. The Phillimore transcription of the marriage records them as Isaac Yoe and Mary Corney.
2. Isaac appears to have been a grandson of Bernard Yeo and Emmet Thorne of Stratton – see A butcher from Hill Head?.
3. Isaac was buried at Lanteglos in 1762, surviving Mary by seven years.
4. The John Yeo who married Eleanor May at Blisland in 1813 might have been Mary’s grandson. Further research is required.
