Christ’s Hospital at Horsham was founded in the 16th century as a charitable school. It has its own railway station on the main line from London to Brighton.
George Yeo was Clerk of the school from 1704 to 1711 and his son John Yeo held the same post from 1746 until his death on 1 January 1750. John’s death was reported in The Gentleman’s and London Magazine later that month.
Sheila looked into the lives of these two men in 1995 after receiving a letter from the school archivist, but was unable to link them to any of the researched Yeo lines.
