Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

This couple married in London in 1879 at the parish church of St Mary the Virgin, Somers Town. Fredrick is recorded as a 21-year-old plumber, a bachelor of 23 Little Drummond Street, son of carpenter Daniel Ross Yeo. Alexandria is recorded as a spinster [note 1], also of 23 Little Drummond Street, daughter of engineer John Ramsden. Banns had been read, and they both signed their names.

Note
1. Alexandria’s age was shown as 28 on the marriage certificate. Her name has been recorded in different forms in other records, which also give varying versions of her age. She is recorded as Alexandra Yeo in the 1901 census, age 38. When she died in 1940 her death was recorded as Ellen Alexandra Yeo and her age as 77: a good match for the date of birth of 7 March 1863 shown in the 1939 Register – if correct, this would make her 16 rather than 28 when she married and she would have needed parental permission, which is not noted on tht certifcate. No baptism or birth registration has been found to confirm her age.
