Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

The 1871 census records 48-year-old Richard W. Yeo in Plaistow Lane, West Ham. His birthplace is shown as Lambeth; his occupation is not easy to read – he appears to be a clerk at a debtors’ court [note 1]. Listed with Richard are his wife Mary Ann Yeo (age 38, born in Lambeth) and his three children, whose birthplace is given as Westminster: Richard W. Yeo (age 10), Emily A. Yeo (6) and Frederick G. Yeo (3).

No record of Richard William Yeo’s birth has been found, nor of his marriage to Mary Ann [note 2]. Their three children [note 3] were:
– Richard William Yeo (1861–1931, married Eliza Mary Bailey)
– Emily Alice Yeo (1864–1924, married Henry Aiano)
– Frederick George Yeo (1866–1930).

Richard William Yeo senior died in 1871 at the age of 48. It is not clear when Mary Ann died.
