John Yeo (1832–1905, son of George Yeo and Ann Squire) was baptised at Swimbridge. He married Mary Jane Curtis in 1867; their five children were born at Fremington:
– Selina Augusta Yeo (1868–1908, married Edward Spearman and moved to south Wales)
– Bessie Ann Yeo (1871–1947, married Thomas Stevens)
– Charles Henry Yeo (1873–1948, married Lily Hammett, two daughters)
– William John Yeo (see below)
– Mary Jane Yeo (born 1880).
The 1881 census for Fremington shows John and Mary Jane living at Mill Hill Cottage. John is recorded as an agricultural labourer, age 48, birthplace Goodleigh. Mary Jane is 40, birthplace Fremington. Listed with them are their five children and Mary Jane’s mother Ann Curtis, a widow of 60, birthplace Bishop’s Tawton.
William John Yeo (1875–1950, son of John Yeo and Mary Jane Curtis) married Ethel Annie Watts at Instow in 1899. They moved to Dorset, where they had three children:
– Percy John Yeo (1900–1924)
– Dorothy Annie Yeo (1902–1984, married William George Plowman)
– Edward Stanley Yeo (1905–1986, married Margaret Loader, four children).
Ethel died in 1939, and William re-married the following year. He and his second wife Nora Watts [note 1] did not have children.
