Emery Yaw was born in Randolph in 1876 to parents Elijah Franklin Yaw (1840–1909) and Elizabeth Mary Wildrick (1842–1943). He married Ruth Adell Ferman at Randolph in 1903 and they had four children:
– Brett Furman Yaw, 1908–1978
– Charles Rex Yaw, 1908–1990, known as Rex
– Emory Lynn Yaw, 1910–1951
– Helen Ruth Yaw, 1919–1995, married Ernest Richard Dow
Emery died in 1949 and is buried at Randolph.
