John Yeo and Mary Ann Harmer

Widower John Yeo [note 1], married widow Mary Ann Harmer née Murphy at the parish church of St Mary Magdalene, Southwark in 1904. They had three children:
– Frederick Charles Yeo (born 1905, appears to have died before 1911)
– Mary Ann Yeo (born 1906)
– Edward John Yeo (born 1910, married Mary Saunders, son John Edward Yeo born 1944).

The 1911 census records John and Mary Ann living in Bermondsey with their two children Mary Ann Yeo (age 5) and Edward Yeo (1). Also listed in the household are Mary’s son Thomas Harmer (age 11) [note 2], John’s sons Henry Yeo (age 20) and Thomas Yeo (age 18) from his previous marriage, and 54-year-old lodger John Edmonson.

1. According to research by Sheila, John was the eldest son of John Thomas Yeo and Amelia Cooper, lived from 1863 to 1925, had previously married Eliza Wiffin at the parish church of St Saviour, Newington in 1882, and had eight children with her, including George William Yeo (born 1883), John Thomas Yeo (1883–1937, married Florence Maud Southgate), Harry Yeo (born 1885) and Florence Edith Yeo (born 1887).
