The 1861 census

The 1861 census for England and Wales was taken on 7 April. There are 1033 records for Yeo and variant surnames [note 1]. The census can be searched at Ancestry or FindMyPast. A subscription is required, and images of household returns can be viewed. There is a facility to report transcription errors.

A census was taken in Scotland on the same date. There are 2 records for Yeo and 6 records for Yaw [note 2]. The census can be searched at Scotland’s People.

A census was taken in Ireland on the same date, but the records have not survived.
