This couple married at Thurlbear, a Somerset parish a few miles south east of Taunton, on 11 February 1726/7. A transcription from Phillimore’s Somerset Registers records that they were both from Thurlbear. They had at least two children: Emanuel Spear and Hannah Ann Spear.
Elizabeth had been baptised not far away at Cannington on 1 December 1697. The parish register records her father as John Yeo, but little else is known about her or her family.
