Frederick was born in Notting Hill in west London in 1890 to parents William Richard Yeo and Annie Elizabeth Sexton. He died in Paris in 1976, at the age of 85.
Sheila looked into Frederick’s line of descent in 1991. She traced it back to Daniel Yeo and Barbara Easton, who married at Steeple Langford in Wiltshire in 1689, but was unable to contact any members of his family.
Frederick’s parents William Richard Yeo (1881–1908) and Annie Elizabeth Sexton had five other children:
– William John Yeo (see below)
– Ethel Louise Yeo (born 1882, married William Theodore Noakes)
– Annie Elizabeth Yeo (1885–1971, married William Henry Pratt) [note 1]
– Helena Frances Yeo (1888–1892)
– Florence Eva Yeo (1893–1988, married Frank Gilbert).
William John Yeo (1881–1908, son of William Richard Yeo and Annie Elizabeth Sexton) was born at Notting Hill. He married fellow Londoner Florence Benton in Notting Hill in 1902. They appear to have been part of a local Primitive Methodist congregation, as their daughter Dorothy was baptised into that church. They had two daughters:
– Florence Nellie Yeo (1902–1933, emigrated with her mother, married Howard Otto Haggberg in the United States and died there)
– Dorothy Ethel Yeo (1905–2004, also emigrated with her mother, married Joseph Lindholm in the United States and died there).
William died in London in 1908, at the age of 27. Two years later, Florence emigrated to Canada with her daughters; she married Peter Anderson in Winnipeg in 1911 and had four further children. She died in 1919.
