The passenger list for the Cunard liner Laconia, which arrived at Liverpool on 15 August 1932, includes 31-year-old Elsie Yeo. Her occupation is recorded as an artist and her destination address as ‘Llangyfelad, Bryntford, Swansea’ [note 1].
Elsie May Yeo had been born in 1901, the eldest of six children of John Blackmore Yeo and Margaret Rees – her birth was registered at Swansea. We do not have a record of when she travelled to America.
Elsie left Wales again later in 1932 to travel to Canada on the SS Duchess of York, which left Liverpool on 16 November bound for Montreal. Her occupation is again recorded as an artist and her UK address is recorded as ‘143 Llangyfdach Rd, Swansea’. We have no other information about her.

Note
1. The Swansea address in the two passenger lists appears to be Llangyfelach Road in the Brynhyfryd area of the city.
