Edwin Prouse Hawton (1873–1942) and Sarah Yeo (1874–1953) were both originally from Devon but married in Hebburn, County Durham in 1905 [note 1].
Sarah was a direct descendant of Philip Yeo and Margaret Bond of North Tamerton, Cornwall. Sheila traced her line of descent in 2001 with the help of correspondent Brian Hawton.
