Edward Yeo and Rosina Elizabeth Coles

Please read About Families before using any of the information on this page.

This couple married at the parish church of St James, Islington in 1870. Sheila Yeo recorded their marriage, and suggested that Edward was born at Hoxton in 1847. Examination of the 1901 census for Kentish Town, as described below, confirmed that Sheila was correct regarding his year and place of birth, although she was unable to link the family to any of the Yeo lines she had investigated. Subsequent research [note 1] has identified Edward’s parents as William Yeo and Mary Ann Brooker.

Edward and Rosina had five sons and a daughter:
– Edward Yeo (see below)
Henry Yeo
Charles Yeo
– William Yeo (born 1877)
– Alfred Yeo (born 1879)
– Rosina Elizabeth Yeo (born 1882, married Edward William Alfred Skilton 1906).
In 1891, Edward and Rosina were living in at 275 High Street in the Regents Park area of London. Edward is recorded as an architect and surveyor; their five eldest children are with them but Rosina is not listed [note 2].
Ten years later, the 1901 census records them at 61 Lady Margaret Road, a turning off Leighton Road in Kentish Town [note 3].
Edward died in 1923; Rosina lived until 1929.

Edward Yeo (1872–1923, son of Edward Yeo and Rosina Elizabeth Coles) married Elizabeth Eliza Rutterford. They had one daughter:
– Doris Rosina Emma Yeo (1907–1992, married Arthur William Collins).
The 1911 census records Edward and Elizabeth in north London [note 4].
