Charles Ripper and Sarah Jane Yeo

The marriage of this couple took place in Falmouth in 1913 [note 1].

Charles was a 63-year-old widower; his occupation recorded as ‘grocer etc.’, his father as miller John Ripper and his place of residence as Yeovil; he had previously married Arabella Robbins in 1879.

Sarah Jane was a 48-year-old widow living in Falmouth, daughter of carpenter John Whitford; she had previously married Frederick Charles Yeo.

Frederick Charles Yeo and Sarah Jane Whitford had emigrated to South Africa shortly after their marriage in 1895, and they had a son Frederick John Yeo there the following year (see below). Three years later, Frederick Charles Yeo died; his widow and son appear to have returned to Cornwall soon afterwards. Sarah Jane married Charles Ripper as described above; she died in 1944.

Frederick John Yeo (1896–1987, son of Frederick Charles Yeo and Sarah Jane Whitford) remained in England and married Dora Adelaide Hoskin in 1920 [note 2]. They had two children:
– Bernard Frederick Yeo (1921–2003, married Marion Garforth in Yorkshire in 1947, no recorded children)
– Phyllis Mary Yeo (1927–2007, married William Albert A’Bear).
