Charles Henry Basting was a bricklayer who served in the army during the First World War.
Eliza Yeo was born at Woodbury in south-east Devon in 1883. The 1891 census records her at Woodbury with her parents James and Caroline Yeo, and her older sisters Mary Maria Yeo and Louisa Florence Yeo. James was working as a gamekeeper.
Charles and Eliza’s married on 13 February 1913, probably at the register office in Alton. There appears also to have been a church ceremony in the Okehampton area on 19 December 1912.
