This couple married at Barnstaple Register Office in 1892. They were both previously unmarried; John was from Bishop’s Tawton, and some researchers have incorrectly assumed that they they married there.
Sarah Ann had been born at Swimbridge in 1873, the fourth of five children of George Yeo and Eliza Buzzacot and a granddaughter of William Yeo and Charity Pugsley. She had a son George White Yeo [note 1] before she married, and had at least fifteen children with her husband John. She was a widow by 1939, and lived until 1968.
