The marriage of this couple on 4 April 1875 at the parish church of St George, Dublin, fell within in the North Dublin registration district. Their marriage certificate records that Charles was a bachelor, an engine driver living at 20 Hendrick Street; his father John Woodhead was a gardener.
Hannah was a spinster of South Lotts Road. They married ‘by registrar’s certificate’ – a routine arrangement for Catholic marriages – rather than by banns. Her father James Yeo was a shipbuilder and the ceremony was witnessed by William Crease and George R. Adams.
Hannah’s birthplace and line of descent have not been identified. She appears to have had several children, and to have died in Ireland in 1936.
