Thomas Yeo, baptised at Littleham, near Bideford in 1714 to Humphrey and Prudence Yeo, was a great grandson of Joseph Yeo and Jane Giffard of Shebbear.
Thomas married Jane Courtis and baptised eleven children at Littleham, including:
– John Yeo (see below)
– Humphrey Yeo (1756–1832, married Ann Darke, four children)
– William Yeo (1758–1826, married Mary Haynes, one son)
– James Yeo (see below).
John Yeo (baptised 1754, son of Thomas Yeo and Jane Courtis) married Catherine Ash. They baptised three children at Bideford:
– Jane Yeo (baptised 1784)
– John Yeo (baptised 1787, married Elizabeth Williams, two children)
– Thomas Yeo (see Thomas Yeo and Mary Woolacott).
James Yeo (baptised 1768 at Littleham, son of Thomas Yeo and Jane Courtis) married Susannah Pryor at Stoke Damerel in 1802. Their seven children, all baptised at St Germans, included:
– James Yeo (see A Yeo who was not a Yeo)
– Doctor Daniel Yeo [note 1] married Susan Soper [note 2] at Stoke Damerel in 1839 and moved to Scotland between 1861 and 1871; they do not appear to have had any children.

Note:
1. Baptised 1811 at St Germans as Doctor Daniel Yeo – there is no evidence of a medical connection; he worked as a painter and decorator. Recorded with Susan in Buckfastleigh in the 1841 census, in Ashburton in 1851, and in West Greenock in 1871. Died in Scotland later in 1871 (death registered at Greenock).
2. Recorded at 4 Nelson Street, West Greenock in the 1881 census, working as a sewing teacher. Recorded in West Greenock in the 1901 census as a widow aged 57, the only person in the household. Died in Scotland 1902 aged 84 (death registered at Greenock West). Birthplace recorded as Dartmouth in the 1851 census.
