William Yeo was baptised at the parish church of St Peter, Barnstaple in 1670 to parents Richard Yeo and Grace Seage [note 1]. He moved to Great Torrington, where he is recorded as a weaver. William married Charity Smyth at Great Torrington in 1697; they had a son William Yeo (see below).
William Yeo (1700–1765, son of William Yeo and Charity Smyth) married Wilmot Aller at Sampford Courtenay in 1723. They baptised three children in the same parish:
– Ann Yeo (baptised 1724)
– Robert Yeo (see below)
– Joseph Yeo (baptised 1733).
Robert Yeo (baptised 1727 at Sampford Courtenay, son of William Yeo and Wilmot Aller) married Elizabeth Bennett at Sampford Courtenay in 1753 and baptised two children in the same parish:
– Ann Yeo (baptised 1754)
– William Yeo
Elizabeth died in 1769 [note 2] and Robert subsequently married Mary Frost at Sampford Courtenay in 1773. Their two children were baptised there:
– Joseph Yeo (baptised 1773)
– Richard Yeo (see below).
Richard Yeo (baptised 1779 at Sampford Courtenay, son of Robert Yeo and Mary Frost) married Mary Arscott in 1801. There appear to have been no children from this marriage, and Mary died three years later. Richard moved to London, where he married Mary Packer in 1816. They had seven children, baptising two at the parish church of St James, Westminster:
– Caroline Mary Yeo (1815–1851, married Robert Byers) [note 3]
– Frederick William Yeo (baptised 1818)
and five at the parish church of St Michael, Highgate:
– Amelia Yeo (baptised 1819)
– Grace Yeo (baptised 1820)
– William Yeo (see below)
– Elizabeth Yeo (baptised 1823)
– Sophia Yeo (baptised 1824).
William Yeo (baptised 1821 at Highgate, son of Richard Yeo and Mary Arscott) married Mary Ann Brooker [note 4]. They had nine children:
– Mary Ann Yeo (1844–1850)
– William Frederick Yeo (1846–1846)
– Edward Yeo
– Richard Yeo (1849–1849)
– Caroline Yeo (1851–1951, married James Campling 1893)
– Lizzy Emma Yeo (1853–1916, married Richard Engley 1875)
– Maria Yeo (1855–1934, married William Stavenson 1880)
– Alfred Yeo (1857–1857)
– James Henry Yeo.

Notes
1. Richard was baptised at Great Torrington in 1639; he and Grace married at Goodleigh in 1665.
2. Buried at Sampford Courtenay as Elisabeth Yeow.
3. Caroline’s baptism record describes her father as a servant of Blackheath, so perhaps that is where she was born. She married Robert Byers in 1837; he died in 1843. Caroline’s death was registered with the surname Williams and there is a matching burial record at St Giles in the Fields, but no record of a second marriage (possibly to Griffith Sutherland Williams about 1846) has been found.
4. 1817–1884. Married at the parish church of St Mary, Walworth in 1844.
