Samuel Yeo of Peters Marland in north Devon is recorded in Essex County, Virginia in 1653 but appears later to have returned home. According to research by Reg Walter, administration of his estate was granted at Barnstaple in 1687.
Samuel’s estate was administered by his widow Elizabeth Yeo as their daughter Rebecca was still a minor – Rebecca later married Samuel Seldon and emigrated with him to Virginia. The Seldon family are mentioned in two journal articles detailed in Mike Darch and David Yaw’s research.
